In a tweet Tuesday afternoon, the Lance Campaign attacked a New York hotel union for its decision to involve itself in the midterm elections, deriding the advocacy dollars of labor union members as dark money.
However, less than a week earlier, Lance touted one of his few endorsements for the current cycle, and it came from… a labor union.
And when Buildings Trades endorsed Lance back in May, he had this to say about union support:
“I am truly honored to have the support of the hardworking men and women of New Jersey’s building trades,” said Lance. “People in Washington could certainly learn a lesson about hard work from New Jersey’s building trades workers.”
“We have to call out hypocrisy when we see it. Lance can’t praise the hard-working men and women of this country’s labor movement when it serves him, and then vilify them when it doesn’t, said Benji Schwartz, Malinowski Campaign Communications Director. “How typical and petty of this career politician proving once again that the only interests he truly serves are his own. That’s why he’s got to go in November.”
Tom Malinowski has the support of the New Jersey AFL-CIO, Service Employees International Union State Council, SEIU-32BJ, International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers NJ, American Federation of Teachers NJ, Communication Workers of America NJ, and the Middlesex-Somerset and Northwest Jersey Central Labor Councils.
