Malinowski Earns Endorsement of OPEIU Local 32

The Office and Professionals Employee International Union (OPEIU)’s Local 32 chapter, which represents over 4000 workers across the state of New Jersey in both the public and private sectors, has endorsed Tom Malinowski in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.

“Workers across the public and private sectors deserve to be included in the instrumental decisions that determine wages and employee rights,” said Bill Henning, the Business Manager for Local 32. “Tom has made a career of advocating for workers abroad, and he’s running on a platform that will help laborers across the country. We are proud to endorse him in this election.”

“I am grateful for OPEIU’s support and look forward to a strong partnership,” Malinowski said. “As an Assistant Secretary of State, I championed American values of labor rights and freedom in nations where organizing in a union would have been unthinkable. As your Representative, I will fight to pass fair labor policies.”

Tom is the former Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. He oversaw the U.S. State Department’s Office of International Labor Affairs during the Obama Administration, serving as the chief advocate for worker protections in our international trade agreements and providing support to trade union activists around the world.
