The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, a leader in the national effort to end gun violence, has endorsed Tom Malinowski in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.
“From top to bottom, from coast to coast, voters have clearly stated that we want our elected officials to stand up and shout from the rooftops that we have had ENOUGH of gun violence in our country,” stated Kris Brown, co-president of the Brady Campaign. “With just a few weeks left until the midterms, it’s time for all of us to knock on doors, make phone calls, and do everything we can to make sure we the majority of Congress will focus on gun violence prevention as a priority issue.”
“The Brady Campaign’s support means a great deal to me,” said Malinowski. “I looking forward to partnering with Brady to pass common sense gun violence prevention laws. We need universal background checks, age minimums for purchase, waiting periods before purchase, to reinstate the federal Assault Weapons Ban, and to break the influence of the NRA on our politics.”
Tom has also received the endorsement of the Newtown Action Alliance, and holds the Moms Demand Action “Gun Sense Candidate” distinction. A former National Security Council adviser, and Assistant Secretary of State, Tom joined fellow National Security leaders calling for an end to the use of weapons of war on our streets.
