The United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW)’s Local 1262, which represents over 30,000 supermarket workers across northern New Jersey, has endorsed Tom Malinowski in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.
“Our greatest priority is the thousands of Local 1262 members who are trying to make a better life for themselves and their families,” said Harvey Whille, President of Local 1262. “We have seen Tom’s commitment to middle class families and are pleased to endorse him in his bid for Congress.”
“I am thankful for UFCW’s support and am eager to get to work fighting for New Jersey workers,” Malinowski said. “As an Assistant Secretary of State, I championed labor rights in nations where workers had no voice. As your Representative, I will fight for New Jersey’s working families.”
Tom is the former Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. He oversaw the U.S. State Department’s Office of International Labor Affairs during the Obama Administration, serving as the chief advocate for worker protections in our international trade agreements and providing support to trade union activists around the world.
