(Bridgewater, NJ) — The New Jersey state AFL-CIO today announced its endorsement of Congressman Malinowski for a second term in Congress. The state labor federation represents 1,000 labor unions and 1 million members.
“This year’s endorsed candidates understand the incredible stress that working families are under,” said Charles Wowkanech, President of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO. “They will work tirelessly so that New Jersey’s middle class benefits from the restoration of jobs and creation of new ones in safe workplaces, protected from infection and injury. These candidates will advocate for skills training and effective education, affordable and plentiful health care, and a secure retirement.”
“I’m extremely proud to have the support of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO,” said Congressman Malinowski. “New Jersey workers need relief now, and guarantees that they’ll be safe on the job as we reopen our businesses. My top priority is to ensure a secure and safe recovery that lifts up all of us.”
Congressman Malinowski has been a strong advocate for labor in his first term. He fought for protection and relief for workers during the COVID-19 crisis, and he co-sponsored the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, which would strengthen labor laws and guarantee workers collective bargaining rights.
